Aims & Scope of Workshop

This half-day pre-conference workshop aims to revive and strengthen the skill of Peripherally Inserted Central Catheter (PICC) insertion among anesthesiologists. With PICC placement increasingly underutilized by anesthesiologists, this workshop focuses on preserving this essential competency through a structured program combining focused theoretical sessions and supervised hands-on training. Participants will gain practical knowledge on indications, contraindications, relevant anatomy, ultrasound-guided techniques, and step-by-step PICC insertion, supported by live demonstrations. The workshop is designed for practicing anesthesiologists involved in oncology and cancer care to enhance patient safety and procedural proficiency.
